A Hudson Valley Saturday at Wildflower Farms
1 min read
A Napa-like escape, ninety minutes from the city — no plane ticket required.
Living in the beautiful Hudson River Valley, I am reminded that sometimes the best way to satisfy the urge to travel is simply to get in the car and explore one of the many wonderful towns and landscapes close to home. And that's exactly what we did on a recent Saturday evening. We set out for a drive and about an hour and ten minutes later, we arrived at Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection in Gardiner.
Set on 140 secluded acres beneath the Shawangunk Ridge, Wildflower Farms has a distinctly Napa-like feeling—pastoral, polished, and wonderfully transportive. We started out with a craft cocktail outside by the firepit and enjoyed live music. We then had dinner at Clay, the resort's farm-driven restaurant. The menu celebrates local farms and the season, with a New American style that feels completely at home in the setting.
Thistle Spa features holistic treatments, an indoor saltwater pool, sauna and steam rooms, and outdoor pools and hot tubs. Just 90 minutes from New York City, Wildflower Farms makes for an especially appealing escape—a Napa-like experience without the plane flight.
Plotting a fall drive?
We can point the car toward the right table, the right room, and the right view.
